Paul Anderson, NMD

Dr. Paul S Anderson is CEO of the Anderson Medical Group which includes Advanced Medical Therapies, a state of the art medical center providing fully compliant IV, Hyperbaric and Mild Hyperthermia therapies and a medical education company Consult Dr. Anderson. He is a graduate of the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and began instructing at medical schools in the early 1990’s. 

He has participated in NIH funded research in integrative oncology and holds the rank of Full Professor at Bastyr University. He is a well-known continuing education presenter with areas of specialty in complex clinical medicine, intravenous and injection medicine, oncology and genomics.  

As an author he is co-author of the Hay House book “Outside the Box Cancer Therapies” with Dr. Mark Stengler as well as a co-author with Jack Canfield in the anthology “Success Breakthroughs” and numerous peer and public publications in science and health. 

He is extending his medical education mission online through the CME site ‘ConsultDrA.com’ and via live CME events as co-founder of Advanced Applications in Medical Practice.

Lylen Ferris, ND

Lylen Ferris is a naturopathic physician with a degree from the National College of Natural Medicine (now NUNM) in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Ferris completed a residency in advanced women’s health and gynecology at the NCNM clinic where she oversaw patient care and as well as taught gynecology and clinical education classes. Dr. Ferris has developed curriculum and presented at numerous integrative and alternative health conferences, including the Institute of Women’s Health and Integrative Medicine. She currently sits on the advisory board of Functional Medicine University.

Thomas G. Guilliams, PhD

Thomas G. Guilliams Ph.D. earned his doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee) where he studied molecular immunology in the Microbiology Department. Since 1996, he has spent his time studying the mechanisms and actions of natural-based therapies and is an expert in the therapeutic uses of nutritional supplements. 

He has written five textbooks for healthcare professionals, including The Role of Stress and the HPA Axis in Chronic Disease Management. Tom teaches at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, where he holds an appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, and at the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy. He lives outside of Stevens Point, Wisconsin with his wife and children.

Ruth Hobson, ND

Dr. Ruth Hobson graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2014 with a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and an additional certificate in natural childbirth. She returned to NUNM to complete her residency where she was responsible for overseeing patient care, guiding medical students in patient care, and facilitating clinical education classes. Dr. Hobson is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Western States Health and Sciences, and private practice clinician specializing in all aspects of women’s health.

Daniel Kalish, DC

Dr. Daniel Kalish is founder of the Kalish Institute, an online training program dedicated to building Functional Medicine practices. Since 2006, the Kalish Institute has helped develop practice models for over 1,000 practitioners world-wide. In 2017, Dr. Kalish joined the Practice Implementation faculty the Institute for Functional Medicine and began a strategic partnership around My Practice Plan, an online training program. The course curriculum focuses on the development of business skills to assist doctors with practice implementation. Dr. Kalish also leads an online mentorship program in Functional Medicine that emphasizes clinical application and program design skills.

Dr. Kalish received his B.A. in physiology and psychology from Antioch College and completed his chiropractic degree at Life West. He studied at the University of London and conducted research with biochemist Dr. Robin Monroe at Cambridge University. His educational pursuits led him to mentoring with renowned psychiatrist R.D. Lang, as well as John R. Lee, M.D. a pioneer in the use of progesterone. He is the author of three books, “The Five Pillars to Building a Successful Practice,” "The Kalish Method: Healing the Body Mapping the Mind" and "Your Guide to Healthy Hormones" and is a frequently requested speaker for integrative medicine conferences across the United States.

Julia Malkowski, ND, DC, BSc

Dr. Julia Malkowski graduated with a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in December 2017, with advanced standing, and a doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine in April 2016 from National University of Health Sciences. Dr. Malkowski has presented at Autism One and the International College of Integrative Medicine (ICIM) IV Training. Dr. Malkowski has completed Biomedical Treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders Seminar, Fundamentals of Functional Blood Chemistry, Mastering the Thyroid Seminar and 100 hours in Functional Neurology applied to Childhood Neurobehavioral Disorders. Dr. Malkowski began a career in Naturopathic Medicine after seeing firsthand it’s excellent results at restoring the health of her infant son. Dr. Malkowski credits her excellent health, and the health of her two children to Naturopathic Medicine. She remains committed to optimal health on a personal and professional level.

Laura Neville, ND

Laura Neville ND graduated from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine and maintains a private practice with a focus on endocrine health in Portland, OR. 

Dr. Neville has a wide-ranging background, experience in massage therapy, craniosacral bodywork and completed her undergraduate studies in Exercise Science from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Neville combines her extensive knowledge on type 1 diabetes and thyroid disorders with great professionalism to her patient care.

Myles Spar, MD, MPH

Myles Spar, MD, MPH is a national leader in the field of Men’s Health, author of the book Optimal Men’s Health from Oxford University Press having co-edited Integrative Men’s Health for the same publisher. He is Chief Medical Officer of Vault Health, the first national medical practice specializing in men’s health. Before joining Vault in 2019, Dr. Spar was founder and CEO of Tack180, an optimal health program for men based in Los Angeles, and directed the Integrative Medicine program at the Southern California Men’s Medical Group and at the Simms-Mann Health and Wellness Center at Venice Family Clinic.

He has been a clinical faculty member of the UCLA and University of Arizona Schools of Medicine and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Integrative Medicine. Dr. Spar is Co-Chair of the American Board of Integrative Medicine and has presented internationally on Integrative Men’s Health and on issues relating to bringing integrative medicine to underserved communities. For this latter work, Dr. Spar was the recipient of the Bravewell Award for Leadership in Integrative Medicine in 2013.

Decker Weiss, NMD, FASA

Dr. Weiss became the first Cardiologist as a Naturopathic Physician, completing non-invasive cardiovascular hospital-based training in the Columbia Hospital system, the Arizona Heart Institute, and the Arizona Heart Hospital. Dr. Weiss kept privileges at the Arizona Heart Hospital, while opening the breakthrough Scottsdale Heart Institute, where he helped thousands of patients reduce medication safely, eliminate the need for angioplasty, ablation, bypass surgery, and reverse heart disease. The International Association of Health Care Practitioners and the International Association of Cardiologists named Dr. Weiss, a “Leading Physician in the World” in 2012; a distinction given to under 1000 physicians each year. Dr. Weiss shifted his focus 2014 to inflammation, genetics, and the science of intractable conflict, as he joined Artis International has a Senior Fellow and Director of their Center for Health and Medicine and launched Peace Possible™, a non-profit organization dedicated to researching the neurochemistry of radicalization, cycles of poverty, cycles of violence, and anti-microbial resistance. Dr. Weiss has presented original research to cardiologists, researchers, and government officials in 15 countries including University of Oxford’s Center for the Resolution of Intractable Conflict and Cleveland Heart Lab.
